Hoping not to get sick...

Little Miss and Werty both got sick yesterday. Little Miss threw up in the middle of my teeth cleaning at the dentist's office. Oh, yay! Today, they are recovering. This is a violent form of stomach flu. Werty lost about 25 lbs yesterday - anyway he can get "wellness points" for that? Because he couldn't eat or drink anything healthy, or be physically active, to get points in any other way. We are praying that I don't catch this, dehydration would not be good for the baby. Meanwhile, Bear is excited to be back to eating normal food and to go back to Preschool.

Update

I am in the long stretch now - the 30's - 31 weeks to be exact. There's the waddling, of course. Then there's the 'whoa, I better get all that stuff done before the baby gets here' feeling. And the excitement that the time is getting closer, along with the relief that the pregnancy is going well.

So, I was planning on having my kids call a certain little girl who turned two today and sing her Happy Birthday. BUT, Bear spent the day throwing up and feeling listless, so that didn't happen. He was finally able to keep down water this evening. Poor guy. Of course, yesterday, the three of us were sharing a churro at Costco, and I thought about how we had been healthy for two whole weeks, and maybe I was tempting fate, all of us sharing germs like that. So...I did some extra laundry today, in case Little Miss gets sick next.

Glucose Test...

It's that time again. Every time I fail it, but I have to take the test anyway. Last week I failed the first test. Tomorrow I get to starve and take the second test. The starving and feeling sick is my least favorite part of gd. Then it's time to start the gestational diabetes diet. This also means that we are coming to the end...only 10-11 weeks left. Woohoo!

My New Niece!

She was born yesterday, A little over 7 lbs and 20 inches long. She has a name, even if my mom doesn't know what it is yet...I do. I wonder if she will let us call her the second half of her name as a nickname, because I think it's pretty. Buttercup picked out the name a while ago, but didn't want to hear anyone else's opinion, so she kept it close to the chest before the birth. I have no pics to show, because I haven't actually seen my niece yet. Buttercup would like us to come over and see them after they are home from the hospital in a few days. So, we will have to take the camera and get pics then. But, Buttercup and baby are well.

Joy and Sorrow

Ok, so it has been a long time since I have written on my blog. Been a little tired, even though this is my second trimester. On New year's Eve, we found out that we are having another boy. I had asked Bear before what he was hoping for, a new sister or a new brother, and he said sister. But I think that's just because he already has one, and that feels more familiar. When we told him he was going to have a little brother, he exclaimed, "That's what I always wanted!" Bless him.

Meanwhile. since my last post, Klari had her baby, born right after Christmas. Ddonn's SIL had her baby this month, and we are waiting on Ovaltine and Buttercup's baby to come next. Great blessings and great joy. Nothing makes you appreciate these small miracles in our lives that are our children, then grieving for a friend that has lost a child. So, I will keep praying for my friend who lost her baby this week, and our family prays for Buttercup and her baby's health every day. When you feel powerless, and there is nothing you can do, there is always prayer.

Out Sick

Since I can't be "out sick" from being a mommy, let's just say I have been "out sick" from writing on my blog. It's been a month and half, because that's about how long we have been sick at our house. We are on virus #3 or #4, not sure anymore if what I have now is new or just something that didn't really go away that struck back with a vengeance. The kiddos had the croup with this last virus. Little Miss 1 had it the worst - she sounded like she was doing an E.T. impression when she breathed "El-li-ot, El-li-ot...". But considering I know of at least two families in our ward who took their kids to the hospital for breathing treatments with this croup, I guess we were lucky.

Before we were sick, my niece E2 was baptized. My parents came for a few days, and it was nice to see them. They brought my son a Halloween counting book, which he loves because it has ghosts in it. He is really  excited for Christmas and all, but last night he was singing to himself a Halloween song in his room. Thanksgiving we got together with Werty's clan. Werty finally saw his new niece, tiny little girl. Someday I will be healthy, and actually get to hold her! Lots of family, lots of love. Made my first lemon meringue pie - tasted great, but didn't fully set. But that's ok, there were so many pies that no one but me ate it. And then it didn't fully survive the car trip home. But, I think I know what went wrong, so there's always next time. The day after Thanksgiving we put up our tree. Here is Little Miss in her new Christmas dress.

Meanwhile, Little Miss1 had her 18 mos check-up. Here are her stats:
W: 25 lbs 8 oz  70%
L: 32 in  55%
Head: 19.5 in  100% (she's related to her brother, what can I say?)
Cuteness: 100%
Hair: still not as long as Jack-Jack's, but she can do curly pig-tails.

On Monday, I said to myself, it's December and it feels like we should have snow by now. Hahaha. No, I hadn't checked the weather forecast in at least a week. Too sick to care and all that. Well, it snowed, and it's snowing again. Bear loves it, Little Miss isn't so sure yet.
